Team Aster won the third Minor of Dota 2 Pro Circuit Season-2019/20 Starladder ImbaTV Minor in a dominant manner. On their way to ESL One Los Angeles Major Aster lose only one map from twelve played in Kyiv.
In group stage Aster stomped Indonesian BOOM and Russian forZe. In play-off upper bracket they faced European powerhouse Alliance and CIS team Gambit with their young star Danil “gpK” Skutin returned to the main roster. Those matches also ended with a decisive 2:0 wins.
In lower bracket Alliance raised their heads and beat both BOOM and Gambit in a confident way. Alliance were the only ones who managed to take a single map from Aster. That happened on the third map of the grand final when the score line was 2:0 in favor of Chinese team in bo5 series. A small victory did not help Alliance to do a reverse sweep as the match ended 3:1. It is worth mentioning that Team Aster picked 20 unique heroes in the decisive series of the tournament. Also their carry player Song “Sccc” Chun played 11 different heroes in 12 games.
Starladder ImbaTV Season 3 was the first major in Team Aster history. During two seasons, they played four times on Majors but never finished higher than 9-12 places. Current roster of Aster plays without substitutes from September 2019.
The only sticking point for Aster can be visa problems of their captain and leader Pan “Fade” Yi. He never visited USA and does not have visa for ESL One Los Angeles. Team Aster Management is working on it in Kiev as US embassies quit issuing visas in China in February due to coronavirus epidemic outbreak.
