A spring series of BLAST Premier starts as early as February 4! It will last till June and will include three stages.
The first stage, BLAST Premier Spring Groups, will feature 12 invited teams split into three groups to play a total of 18 Bo3 matches according to the double-elimination system. In the end, the six strongest teams will qualify for the final stage (Spring Finals), and the bottom ones will fall to the BLAST Premier Spring 2021 Showdown. The stage will wrap up on February 14. The overall prize pool for the round is $150,000, with a $25,000 first-place award. The participant list is already determined and looks as follows:
The BLAST Premier Showdown is the second round of the series to take place from April 13 to April 18. The tournament will give an opportunity for novice teams to declare themselves, as well as for first stage losers to win back. Eight teams, seeded through qualifiers, and two invited squads will join in with six bottom participants from the previous stage to compete for two BLAST Premier Spring Final slots. The contestants will play according to the single-elimination system. It implies that after one single loss, the team will be eliminated, while after three wins, the team will advance to the next stage. In this round, the players will contend for the total prize pool of $162,500.
Once the top 8 teams are determined, the spring’s denouement will take place. At Spring Finals, the contestants will fight for one single BLAST Premier Global Finals 2021 slot. This battle will last from June 15 to June 20 and will run according to the double-elimination system with a right to make one mistake. The prize pool will amount to $425,000, the winner will gain $225,000.
