Bookies Offering Odds on Next Arsenal Manager

Bookies Offering Odds on Next Arsenal Manager

This has been a season that Arsenal players and fans will want to forget – and may well be one that Arteta wants to forget as well. Arsenal has been a team struggling in the 2020 season and even had a little flirtation with the drop zone at the early part of the season. A place that Gunner fans are not familiar with. However, Arsenal has been doing a little better recently and are now placed firmly in the middle of the table. However, this will not be good enough for the fans who may be used to not getting silverware, but they will expect a place in European football next season.

This now looks like it isn’t given. Getting the struggling team into the top six and Europa League qualification won’t be easy, and if they are looking for a top-four spot and Champions League qualification, it will be even tougher.

His predicament is made even tougher by the very fact that some of the biggest club managers in European football are on the lookout for a new gig and may well want a shot of leading Arsenal to its former glory.

Possible Replacements

But who would be in the running for the job? Here are some of the bookies favourites to take the lead:

Max Allegri

Max Allegri is most famous for his impressive performance with Serie A team, Juventus. He took a struggling Italian side and led them to 5 consecutive Serie A league wins. He also took them into the heart of the Champions League, so has plenty of experience when it comes to European football – and getting his teams into European competition. At the moment, Allegri is out of a job and has not committed to any other managerial roles so he may well be tempted by this role – and they may well be tempted to see if he can work his Juventus magic with Arsenal.

Thomas Tuchel

After sacking Lampard, Chelsea was quick to call on the services of Thomas Tuchel who has been working wonders with Arsenal’s rivals. With the way things are going at Chelsea right now, the chances of Tuchel looking for a new job seems pretty slim. However, we all know that things can change very quickly in the world of football – and a run of losses could turn things around completely. Chelsea is pretty quick to get rid of managers if things start going wrong.

Brendan Rogers

Brendan Rogers is no stranger to managing top-level Premier League clubs and he’s certainly doing a very decent job at Leicester, having led them to the FA Cup final this season. He’s also proved his worth at many other top teams including Liverpool and Celtic and has shown that he knows how to take teams to the top. Given how well Leicester are doing right now, the only question is, would he swap his job for Arteta’s?

Patrick Viera

Premier League teams have shown that they are not shy in trying out former players as managers. However, not all with great success. However, Viera is one with experience, having managed Ligue 1 team Nice as well as the MLS team New York City FC. However, the Premier League is a much different prospect and would certainly be a challenge. Would they take a shot at former club legend? It’s certainly not impossible.

Rafa Benitez

This Spanish manager has experience in abundance at managing Premier League teams. He has a huge amount of European experience and has been manager of Liverpool, Inter, Valencia, Chelsea, Napoli, Real Madrid… he’s seen a lot of high-end football action.
Benitez is known for his love of the Premier League and may well be tempted back by the Arsenal job.

So, who would it be? Arteta isn’t out yet, and if he pulls it back he may survive. But, if bookies are offering odds on your job, it’s not a good sign.
