Chinese Dota 2 teams have to spend 2 weeks abroad before visiting ESL One Los Angeles

Chinese participants of ESL One Los Angeles have to spend not less than 2 weeks in other countries before visiting USA.

The third major of Dota 2 Pro Circuit season 2019-20 will be held at Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California. The first games of the event are scheduled for March 15. However, US government issued an entry ban to any foreigners who have been in China within the last 14 days as a measure to prevent coronavirus spreading.

Therefore, Invictus Gaming, RNG and EHOME have to leave their country before Match and find a place for boot camp abroad most likely in non-visa country for Chinese citizens. If any of players do not have US visa, they also have to apply for it abroad as US consulates in China do not receive visa applications now.

It is to be recalled that Chinese qualifiers for ESL One Los Angeles were postponed comparing to other regions and finished only on February 17. Starladder ImbaTV Minor qualifiers are held on February 18-19. Team Aster, Avengerls, NewBee and Keen Gaming are fighting to join seven teams in Kiev, Ukraine at the third Minor on the season.

This is not the first problem for esports caused by coronavirus epidemic outbreak. Earlier this year AliSports cancelled CS:GO and Dota 2 World Electronic Sports Cup Asia-Pacific Finals in Macau. League of Legends Pro League was stopped after the first week while League Champions Korea is closed for live audience. Overwatch Pro League Chinese teams will host their home matches in Seoul, South Korea.
