Two more tournaments of DreamHack Open series are reported to run in the rest of the year! Last week, the organizers announced the intention to hold the editions in November and December with a total prize fund of $200,000.
Both competitions will be online, consisting of group stages and playoffs. Teams will be divided into two groups. The first stage will determine the top two participants from each group to advance to playoffs. Group stage matches and semifinals will be best-of-three series, and grand final games — best-of-five.
Each event will feature 8 participating teams. Only 2 of them are known for today; they are KOVA, a winner of Telia Esports Series S3, and Originem, a gold medalist of DreamHack Showdown Summer. The rest contestants of the upcoming tournaments will be defined by either ESL World Ranking or European regional competitions.
The first contest slated for November 26-29 will be with a focus on participants from Scandinavia. The second competition will run on December 10-13 and will feature representatives from the Pyrenean Peninsula.
