Next week, from October 8 to October 10, the top four teams will compete for the title of League Champion and the first-place prize of $1,500,000.
As far as you remember, OWL 2020 Playoffs kicked off on September 3 with teams from NA and Asia. Two playoff rounds have already come to an end and have brought us the names of the strongest teams qualified for a crucial encounter.
In North America, San Francisco Shock gained a victory over Philadelphia Fusion with a 3:1 score, while Philadelphia Fusion scored a 3:0 win over Washington Justice. In Asia, Shanghai Dragons defeated Seoul Dynasty. The latter, though, managed to get the loss back in the match against New York Excelsior and qualify for the last stage.
So then, Final Four Weekend will open up with contests between San Francisco Shock, Philadelphia Fusion, Shanghai Dragons, and Seoul Dynasty. The participants will play semi-finals, winners’ finals, losers’ finals, and grand finals in a double-elimination format. The final game will be played first-to-four, the rest matches – first-to-three.
The organizers reported that in the case of 2 regional champions, there would be changes in prize pool allocation. That is, both winners would get $1,000,000, while each of the runner-ups would take home $500,000.
