DreamHack Open 2021 is soon to come!

DreamHack will host its first CS:GO competition of the 2021 Open Series at the end of January. The tournament will be held online, broadcast from the Monster Energy DreamHack Studio in Stockholm.

The contestants will be broken down into 2 divisions: Europe and North America. In Europe, 8 squads will be seeded into 2 groups, with 4 squads in each. They will play according to the GSL format; that is, the players will get through Bo1 Opening & Winners’ and Bo3 Elimination & Decider matches, with the 2 strongest teams from each group making it into the Playoffs. As to North America, the championship will start right with Playoffs, with 4 squads playing in this division.

In Europe, one tournament slot was gained by the winner of ESL Meisterschaft Germany — Sprout. Five European and two American teams will be invited based on ESL World Ranking. The rest participants will be determined by the qualifiers.

In both regions, open qualifiers are scheduled for January 20-21. The closed qualifiers will take place on January 22-23. The main event will run from January 27 to January 31. The overall prize fund for the tournament will amount to $100,000 — $70,000 and $30,000 for Europe and America, respectively. Apart from prize money, the participants will gain EPT points, their distribution will look as follows:
