Right after the announcement by Epic Games, one of the world’s largest esports organization Team Secret disbanded their Fortnite roster. Team Secret is mostly known for their Dota 2 roster featuring The International 1 champion Clement “Puppey” Ivanov. The organization stated that “Fortnite is still a great content creator and player platform, unfortunately, it’s making less and less sense for competitive orgs to be involved”.

Team Secret created Fortnite roster in 2018 and they won about $280 000 prize money until now.

World Cup is the main tournament of Fortnite: Battle Royale esports. In 2019, Fortnite World Cup had the prize pool of $30 million dollars: 15 for Solo competition and 15 for duos. For a short period of time, until The International 9 overcame $30 million prize pool mark, Fortnite World Cup had the biggest prize money in history of esports.
