The March series of CS:GO DreamHack Open has terminated, and we are glad to announce the winners!
As you remember, this CS:GO tournament took place online in two divisions — North America and South America, with the participation of eight and four teams, respectively.
In North America, the competition results are a bit surprising. The group stage determined four semifinalists: Team Liquid, High Coast Esports, Extra Salt, and paiN Gaming. Further, the tournament favorite, Team Liquid, dropped out, dramatically beaten by paiN. And the Brazilians advanced to the Grand Final! However, it was Extra Salt that showed the best result throughout the tournament — the team lost only one map in this competition and made it into the final confidently. And in the final match, despite the stiff resistance and close score on each map (16:12 on Inferno, 16:13 on Train, and 16:14 on Mirage), JT’s squad managed to find a way to outvie. Joshua oSee Ohm became the most effective player here and led the way. The victor got $35,000 and 100 Pro Tour points.
In North America, the total prize pool was distributed as follows:
South American competition brought a more foreseeable winner. The Brazilian CS:GO squad, Imperial Esports, the highest-ranked team in this division, has attained the title. The champion was paving the way to victory by the upper bracket, having smashed Havan Liberty and sent the future Grand Final adversary, Sharks Esports, to the Lower Bracket. Then, in the final match, they repeated their triumph over Sharks Esports, having let down only once on Train. The victor got $16,000 and 60 Pro Tour points.

Both champions have gained IEM Summer 2021 slots; the event will be held on June 3-13.
