The long-awaited LoL competitions have finally opened the new esports year! LoL Spring Split Season, which kicked off a few days ago, is the annual professional League of Legends leagues held in various regions. Most of the competitions start in January. Chinese teams with their LPL Spring Split became the first ones to play in the new season – the matches commenced on January 9. Squads from the CIS will be the last to play in the new season – the league will start on February 13.
Most of the competitions will be held online. Teams will play each other in the group stage, with the top ones making it into the playoffs. The winners of the spring season games will advance to the 2021 Mid-Season Invitational, taking place in May 2021.
