NAVI confirm their world ranking lead by beating Astralis yet again

The second group round of ESL One Pro League Season 11 Europe started on April 5. At this stage, six teams are going to determine three play-off participants with round robin system. Those three will fight for the first place and $75 000 prize. Four out of five best teams by HLTV ranking are playing at this stage. They are NAVI, Astralis, Fnatic and mousesports accompanied by FaZe Clan and OG.

Match of the day and maybe of the whole stage was a clash between two world best teams NAVI and Astralis. Last time they met at IEM Katowice semifinal, which was played on LAN, but without live audience. Natus Vincere crushed their opponents 2:0 (16:5 Dust 2, 16:5 Nuke). Later they won the title as well.

This time Nuke was not picked as Astralis preferred Inferno. This decision was totally right as they beat NAVI with ease 16:5. Natus Vincere in their turn did not change their choice since IEM and did well. After they failed in the beginning of T-side, they managed to recover and won the first half 10:5. Then they took pistol round and extended their lead to 14:5. Astralis tried to come back, but NAVI’s advantage was too big and CIS team won the map 16:10.

On Train Astralis won the knife round and chose to play in defense. Surprisingly that did not help them at all. They lost 7 out of 8 starting rounds and was behind 5:10 after the first half. Astralis won the pistol round on T-side, but instantly lost force round and let NAVI to extend their lead to 13:6. Since that moment, Astralis took only two more rounds and NAVI proved their first place in the world ranking by beating their main rivals.
