OWL 2020 is approaching its end with Playoffs coming soon. Who will be the next champion? It will be not too long in coming! As early as this autumn, series of OWL Playoffs will unveil who will join previous winners – Spitfire and San Francisco Shock.
The two-week online tournament of the Playoff stage will start on Thursday, September 3.
Based on regular-season results, 13 teams were seeded in North America (Atlanta Reign, Boston Uprising, Dallas Fuel, Florida Mayhem, Houston Outlaws, Los Angeles Gladiators, Los Angeles Valiant, Paris Eternal, Philadelphia Fusion, San Francisco Shock, Toronto Defiant, Vancouver Titans, Washington Justice) and seven ones in Asia (Chengdu Hunters, Guangzhou Charge, Hangzhou Spark, London Spitfire, New York Excelsior, Shanghai Dragons, Seoul Dynasty).
The Playoff stage will start with single-elimination matches and will move to double-elimination rounds. After the Playoffs, we will get the top two teams from NA and the top two teams from Asia to fight in a Final Four double-elimination tournament later in October.
A prize pool of NA Playoffs amounts to $625,000, and a prize pool of Asia Playoffs – $325,000.
