Valve delayed The International 10 indefinitely

Valve have announced that Dota 2 world championship called The International would not be held as planned. The International 10 was scheduled for August 18-23 in Globen Arena, Stockholm, Sweden but now it was delayed indefinitely due to coronavirus pandemic. Valve are ‘exploring various date possibilities, but it is likely that the event will need to happen in 2021’.

The company also stated that they are going to launch traditional The International Battle Pass in a few weeks. As always, 25 percent of all Battle Pass purchase will be added to TI prize pool. Valve are also ‘working on restructuring the DPC season for the fall’ to give teams competitive structure.

The International 9 was held is Shanghai, China, while TI8 took place in Vankouver, Canada. Before 2018, The International was held in Seattle, USA for seven years in a row before it started to move to different places. The first TI ever passed in 2011 during Gamescom festival in Cologne, Germany. Natus Vincere team became the first TI champion. Team OG won the last two tournaments.
