On April 19 Virtus.Pro and OG were fighting in the grand final of ESL One Los Angeles – Online. Russian team managed to clinch the victory 3:2 in a very tough bo5 series and earned $60 000 for the first place.

Both Virtus.Pro and OG played at ESL One Los Angeles – Online with their new players. VP decided to replace their carry Cooman with ILTW while OG’s mid laner Topson and offlaner MidOne stuck in Asia because of coronavirus outbreak and were not able to play on European servers. Ceb and 33 were standing in for them during this tournament.
Both grand finalists looked stronger than every other team during the whole event. However, if OG as usually tried out new strategies and lost some games, Virtus.Pro were winning game after game. In the end, they have not dropped a single series at the whole event. They were close to this as OG were leading 2:1 in the grand final but in the end of the day VP took their first big tournament for more than one year.
The biggest flop of the tournament was Team Liquid’s performance. Scandinavian roster started with 0:5 and looked like the worst team of the tournament. However, when they lost even theoretical chances to qualify for play-off, they started to play in completely another way and won the rest matches. CIS powerhouses Gambit and NAVI took only two wins each and Gambit even changed their offlaner during the event.
The biggest sensation was Vikin.gg performance. Team consisted of relatively unknown players made it through to play-off, beat Alliances and wiped out Team Secret. In the battle for top 3 they beat Chicken Fighters who also shocked everyone as they beat Nigma in play-off.
