The group stage of LoL Worlds 2020 came to its end last weekend. Sixteen teams split into four groups played in a double round-robin format, the top two ones from each group were qualified for play-offs.
Chinese Suning and European G2 Esports were advanced from Group A, both with 4:2 results. JD Gaming and DAMWON Gaming became the best contestants in Group B. Fnatic and Gen.G were moved forward from Group C. As to Group D, the top positions were taken by DRX and Top Esports.
Thus, on October 15, the eight strongest teams will start competing against each other in a single-elimination tournament:
- DAMWON Gaming – DRX
- Suning – JD Gaming
- Top Esports – Fnatic
- Gen.G Esports – G2 Esports
The play-off stage will last for the rest of the month and will end in Grand Final on October 31. The organizers have gladly announced that the live audience will be allowed to attend the final tournament at Pudong Football Stadium!
